Our Mission & Standards

Demystifying Plant-Based Nutrition Through Science & Culinary Art

VeganGyan was founded on a simple conviction: eating plant-based should be backed by rigorous nutritional science, practical kitchen wisdom, and zero ambiguity.

Why VeganGyan Exists

Whether someone adopts a vegan lifestyle for animal ethics, planetary sustainability, or athletic longevity, the modern food landscape can be confusing. Industrial additives hide animal derivatives under complex chemical names, online protein debates are filled with conflicting claims, and home cooks struggle to find functional substitutes for eggs, cream, or gelatin.

VeganGyan bridges the gap between academic nutrition research and daily home cooking. We provide free, instantaneous, client-side tools to audit ingredient labels, calculate bioavailable protein and micronutrients, discover precise 1:1 culinary formulas, and plan balanced weekly meals across Indian, Asian, Mediterranean, and Latin American cuisines.

Our Pillars

The Principles That Guide Our Work

Evidence-Based Nutrition

Every macro and micronutrient figure is cross-verified with USDA FoodData Central and peer-reviewed clinical nutrition literature. We prioritize physiological fact over dietary hype.

Zero Commercial Bias

VeganGyan operates as an independent culinary platform. We do not accept paid brand sponsorships to promote specific packaged food products or compromise our forensic ingredient checks.

Culinary Practicality

Transitioning to plant-based living should be enjoyable and affordable. Our 1:1 culinary substitutes and multi-cuisine recipes are tested in physical kitchens for real-world reliability.

Transparent Editorial Review

Food manufacturing formulations evolve constantly. Our database undergoes continuous editorial updates to track changing E-numbers, regional regulations, and labeling standards.

🔬 Scientific & Editorial Integrity

Primary Data Sources: All nutritional calculations on VeganGyan are grounded in the USDA FoodData Central laboratory database, complemented by publications from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN).

Forensic Ingredient Auditing: When determining whether an additive is vegan, we investigate the full industrial manufacturing pathway. If an additive can be synthesized from either petrochemical/microbial origins or slaughterhouse tallow (such as Mono- and Diglycerides E471 or Glycerine E422), we explicitly classify it as "May Be Non-Vegan" and provide clear label guidance.

Kitchen Testing: Every substitution ratio in our database (e.g. flax eggs, aquafaba meringues, cashew creams, tofu ricottas) is tested for texture, emulsification, bake stability, and flavor harmony.
